«I am the mother of Gleb. Gleb was born at 32 weeks on 8 May 2012, his weight was 2060 grams. As a result of difficult delivery our baby developed a syndrome of respiratory disorders, 2nd stage cerebral ischemia with convulsive syndrome and subsequent pneumonia. We were discharged in satisfactory condition at risk of the development of perinatal pathology of the central nervous system, immune-endocrine dysfunction, retinopathy of prematurity and at risk of cerebral palsy. On 4 July 2013 he was registered with disability with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy – the consequences of perinatal damage to the central nervous system with spastic tetraparesis, delayed motor and psychoverbal development and convergent strabismus. Every month Gleb undergoes a course of special massage and exercise therapy, speech therapy, water rehabilitation and hippotherapy. At the age of 8, Gleb can hold his head, sit a little by himself. He can’t crawl or walk, but he tries to. He can reach out for his toys, recognize his relatives and tries to speak. This year he started home school.
In 2013 he was registered as a disable with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, delayed motor and speech development. Nowadays we have been treated and monitored by a neurologist Mazur E., we are continuously do exercise therapy, water rehabilitation, a speech therapy and hippotherapy.
Gleb needs continuous rehabilitation. Even a break for a month will lead to the spasticity increase. To achieve success, he must constantly practice.
The situation in the world is very difficult now. Most of charitable organizations can’t help us but we can’t give up. What we have already achieved will be for nothing if we stop. We’ll have to start all over again. There is a positive dynamic in his mental and physical development, and most importantly, he has a desire. This year we went to the first grade, and studying is hard for him, but he tries and tries to learn something new. »
