From her mother’s letter:
«My daughter was born prematurely at 29 weeks by C-section. Her weight was 1186 grams, and the consequences were not long in coming, in the very first days she had pneumothorax, reactive meningitis, two blood transfusions. My daughter turned out to be a real fighter and gradually her condition improved. After two months we were discharged. When Sonya was 1 year old, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and spastic tetraplegia. Although the prognosis was not good, with the rehabilitation and her strong faith, my daughter is gradually recovering! I never stop admiring her and her attempts to learn everything and become independent. In mental development my daughter does as good as her peers, she goes to 1st grade of a regular school, has certificates of honor for participating in various contests! She likes programming and computer graphics, reads a lot and loves to sing.
My daughter is very hardworking and very kind. She believes that everything will work out for her, and I will always help her in this. Recently Sonya underwent a surgery under Dr. Ulzibat’s approach, after which she has significant improvements, and now it is very important not to waste time and actively go for a rehabilitation course! We went on the rehabilitation summer program in the “Rodnik” center in St. Petersburg for several times. After these she always shows improvements and, most importantly, her spasticity has decreased, and Sonya feels more confident in doing ordinary things like washing and brushing her teeth, getting dressed. This year my daughter wants to go there again. She is already a teenager, and her physical condition and ability to take care of herself depend on continuous rehabilitation. Since I don’t have a job and I am raising her alone, I can’t afford this rehabilitation course and really need help with this!
After on-site summer rehabilitation courses at “Rodnik” center my daughter always has improvements. Also, the rehabilitation helps with the simplest skills, such as getting dressed. For a whole year my daughter lives with the hope that she will go to summer rehabilitation again, because all classes there are held in a friendly, positive atmosphere.
The help is very important for us, it helps us to overcome difficulties. It’s easier when you feel support and from people. Many thanks to all people who help us and the others in need. Thank you all! »
