Dobro.Journal published data from the platform “To be precise” and the payment service CloudPayments on the reduction in donations in Russia in March 2022. The number of one-time donations to socially vulnerable groups of the population decreased by 40%, to foundations that protect human rights – by 9%, to environmental organizations – by 57%. Negative dynamics is also observed in the direction of medicine and healthcare – a two-fold drop in the number of both one-time and recurring payments.
Director of the Podari Zhizn Foundation Ekaterina Shergova said that in March the organization lost about 10% of all monthly subscriptions worth 1.5 million rubles. The fund turned off 80% of these subscriptions because they were set up through Apple Pay and Google Play. Another 300 people unsubscribed on their own – this is twice as many as usual.
