This is the third year we are funding the daily activities for the social adaptation and rehabilitation of children of “Mercy” Elatma`s orphanage for mentally retarded children in the Ryazan region. In 2015 5 experts worked with 18^t children  for a total of 3,330 individual and 225 group sessions. As a result of which children have acquired new skills in the field of movement and cognition, the ability to communicate and self help skills.. They have learned to do many things that used to be completely inaccessible to them. Here are just some of the successes of the children in recent months.
Pasha S. (name is changed)  learned to cut paper with scissors. Standing on a stool, the boy washes himself well. By playing a “finger” game many times he became able to bend his fingers making a fist!

With Dima A. (name is changed)  recently practiced the ability to use a napkin after a meal.  Dima had been practicing together with a specialist and got the result – he himself puts a napkin to her mouth, the teacher is helping to wipe her mouth. She even learned to remove a cap alone, puts is using. Dima advanced in the areas of fine motor skills and cognition, learning, for example, to disassemble the puzzle – he takes the geometrical figures and almost himself inserts into the desired hole.
In the project there were several children with autism problems. Professionals have to take into account the characteristics of the wards, as the desire to escape from reality into a world of their own experiences is string.  It is important to be patient and continually seek creative methods of working off of each skill. And this tactic is working. So, Nikita E. (name is changed)  gradually develops household skills – he learns to dress properly and may have to stretch his arms and legs in the process of dressing. Gradually he masters the skill of washing – he was not afraid to put his hands into a basin of water, playing in the water with his hands. He learned to chew cookies using his molars. Systematic work, social correction help him not only in teaching motor skills, self-service and knowledge, but also the attention and interaction with others. Nikita responded with a look in his eye when he is called by name, and will communicate with their peers.  Nikita was very  interestd in the role-playing games.
