In May 2020 the Russian Government approved a bill that amends the Tax Code of the Russian Federation and reduces tax costs for organizations and individual entrepreneurs who donate food commodities to charitable and socially oriented non-profit organizations.
Moreover, up to 1% of revenue donated to charity will not be taxable.
The government also appropriated more than 7 billion rubles from its contingency fund to pay to employees of social service organizations that help people with coronavirus and people at risk of infection. Benefits are also promised to organizations that donate property to medical organizations to deal with the coronavirus.

Putin also suggested supporting the non-profit sector, manufacturers of ‘rehabilitation products’ and inpatient unit personnel who took their patients home during the pandemic.
