Russian cultural organizations including state and municipal institutions, as well as non-governmental nonprofit organizations can still receive a grant of up to 1 million rubles for a period not exceeding 12 months as part of the ongoing competition of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation.
To do this, applicants must apply for the competition in the last decade of August starting from the 21st. Applications will passed examination before August 30, after that the Foundation will announce the winning organizations. With this, “The Common Care” grant competition lasting for a period from March to September will end within a framework of the Effective Philanthropy program.
According to Oksana Oracheva, General Director of the Foundation, the grant fund of “the Common Care” competition increased from 100 to 140 million rubles.
“We made such decision because of high professionalism and incredible motivation of the winners of the competition to provide assistance to those who need it most,” Oracheva said. “Many winners consider the Foundation’s grants as an opportunity for long-term organizational development: they are restructuring fundraising systems and putting CRM in nonprofit organizations, modernizing museums and libraries’ websites and creating new online products that will be claimed even after the return of a mass visitor. This strategic approach to the implementation of grants instills confidence that the largest number of audiences will receive qualified support, including parents of children with disabilities, groups in need of social rehabilitation, people with mental disabilities and infectious diseases, and many others. We are inspired by the example of our grantees and believe that together we will be able to overcome the modern social challenges.”
During four months, 2,701 applications from 82 regions of the country were submitted to the Common Cause competition. The winners are 105 organizations.
The Common Cause competition aimed for creating conditions for quick and high-quality adaptation of nonprofit organizations and cultural institutions to the new requirements of the time, as well as for maintaining and strengthening the organizational potential of nonprofit organizations in a period of uncertainty.
The winners of the competition received support which is aimed at helping to overcome the phase of instability, reduction or termination of activities, as well as at developing the skills of employees necessary for the further development of the institution.
The competition helped museums and cultural organizations to transfer communication with visitors to remote formats and thus preserve their audiences.
An organization can apply for a grant if:
carries out activities in the field of culture in accordance with the articles of organization, including museum activities: state and municipal institutions and private institutions;
or is a professional association or association in the field of culture, including museums;

The competition lasted from March to September with monthly consideration of applications and the announcement of the winners.
