We are glad that the experts of the Presidential Grants Fund highly appreciated our work. Our project got 87.25 points!!! Thanks to a grant from the President of the Russian Federation, children with severe and multiple developmental disabilities, their families, specialists and institutions will receive assistance. To win, we have done a great job in the process of creating the Application. And now our team has even more work to do in order to realize our plan in the best possible way.

TOGETHER IT WILL WORK: Comprehensive support for children with severe and multiple developmental disabilities and their families
The idea of the project “TOGETHER IT WILL WORK” is to provide comprehensive assistance to children with severe and multiple developmental disorders (hereinafter referred to as TMND) by increasing parental competencies and involving the parents of children in the process of habilitation and teaching children vital skills using the Portage method.
The “Portage” system lowers barriers to disability, promotes the integration of children with TMND, allows the development of cognition, self-service, movement, speech and socialization skills in supposedly “hopeless” children. Against the backdrop of an increase in the number of children with disabilities, a lack of qualified professionals and tools to work with such children, Portage, as a practice with proven effectiveness, is a simple and effective solution for a child, parent, family, specialist, institution and the social protection system as a whole.
Charitable Foundation “Diema’s Dream” – the official representative in Russia, translates materials, trained trainers and Portage specialists. Since 2006, he has been accompanying orphans with TMND and children in families. He has accumulated vast experience in helping children on the basis of boarding schools, rehabilitation centers, and as a result, he gives priority to Portage.
For the first time in Russia, parents and children with TMND aged 3 to 18 from Moscow, Mozhaisk, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Rostov-on-Don, Khabarovsk will receive Portage assistance. Usually, classes with children with TMND are conducted by specialized specialists. Parents themselves cannot teach a child to hold a spoon, dress, chew food, etc. The uniqueness of the project is that with the help of specialists, the parent will conduct classes with the child at home. On the basis of participating organizations, Portage teams will be formed from the staff of employees who will be trained and will be able to apply the methodology both directly dealing with the child and accompanying the parent.
