In July, Anna will go to a big rehabilitation course thanks to donations, which were received in full from Maria Aglushevich, the Ambassador of our Foundation, to whom we also express our sincere gratitude on behalf of the Foundation!
Required: a rehabilitation course at the DCA “Rodnik”, Moscow, costing 248,300 rubles.
Diagnosis: cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia
After the rehabilitation course, it is expected that Anna will strengthen her muscles, improve motor skills and coordination in space, strengthen her skills of standing at the support, and reduce spasticity.
From my mother’s letter:
“Despite all the diagnoses, 5 operations (spine, hip joints, muscles), Anya’s development dynamics is positive, although she does not walk. She was able to learn a lot, especially in the last 5 years, thanks to drug therapy, colossal work at home and with specialists in the DCA Rodnik, whom we have known since 2012 and periodically work with. Anya drinks from a cup, chews and does not choke, speaks more clearly, all teachers understand her, incl. English teacher. Physically, she began to include the left pen in her work, she also types with it, rises at the support and grabs it with both hands, previously she could only use her right. Is sitting. Became more resilient. Can walk holding on to a wheelchair, if you hold the pelvis slightly, walks in a walker, with support and by the handles and the handrail climbs the stairs. Now she is learning to be more independent – she is training to ride on her own in an active wheelchair.
This is a difficult job, but it gives the opportunity for independence, and she has many dreams – she dreams of buying her own ice cream. The most important success of intellectual development is studying in the 4th grade according to the general education program, mastering the English language, full control of sanitary needs (asking to go to the toilet). He is interested in technically complex things: how to play the guitar and tune it correctly, how the elevator works and what makes the car move. Without the teachers of Rodnik, the regularity and the work of the same specialists (it is very important to study with the same teacher in order to gain the skill), Anya would not have been able to achieve all this.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your desire to help and faith in the child! It is such a valuable quality to help other people’s children!”
Thanks to everyone who took a step towards Anna V.!
