Congratulations to speech therapists on their professional holiday!

In the system of teaching children with severe multiple developmental disorders (SMND) there is a whole direction for the development of speech and communication skills. Every year there are more and more speech therapists helping to correct and improve a child’s speech, and this is good news. But what if there is only 1 speech therapist per 100 children in an orphanage for disabled children?

Our Portage project solves this problem. We form teams of those specialists who work “in the field”. In them, specialists of any profile will be able to teach the child the necessary skills. Surprisingly, as practice shows, even parents, accompanied by a Portage specialist, can teach their child to speak. It is important that a speech therapist takes part in the work of the team, and if there is no speech therapist in the institution, the team always invites him for consultations and follows the recommendations.
