Thanks to Maria Aglushevich, Ambassador of our foundation, who donated the necessary amount, Anna V., born in 2010, Moscow, successfully completed a rehabilitation course in July.
Required: a rehabilitation course at the Rodnik Children’s Center, Moscow, costing 248,300 rubles.
Diagnosis: cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia
During rehabilitation for two weeks, the child was provided with the following medical services:
• Adaptive physical education (60 minutes), 20 lessons
• Speech therapist (45 minutes), 20 lessons
• Neurologist (45 minutes), 1 lesson
• Sensory integration (40 min), 18 sessions
• Adaptive swimming (30 min), 10 lessons
Results after the rehabilitation course: Anna’s gross motor skills improved and she gradually learned to swim like a dolphin.
From mom’s letter:
“Anya stood up with one hand. She sat and then stood up, holding only one hand. The work took a long time, more than one year, but it was on this course that great progress was made thanks to the intensity and integrated approach. And she started singing and drawing out the words and now she even has enough breath to tell 3 quatrains.
The summer course turned out to be final and indicative; Anya worked 5-6 hours a day, and for the first time we included swimming in the course. And so it stimulated progress. We were always afraid to take it because of viruses, Anya grabs viruses instantly, and no one cleans the pools well. And then the coach was tough and taught me strictly. And Anya began to feel the body, eventually gained balance and control, the pelvis began to work, even in the video, I will send it, at the end of the video, that Anya began to swim like a dolphin.
But everything together gives its result. The speech therapist found interesting equipment: headphones are put on and when the child speaks, he hears himself through the headphones and understands that he is speaking correctly or incorrectly. And he begins to do it better, to try. We tried it with breathing. At least she started singing. Of course, everything is difficult because of her teenage height, she is now as tall as me or even taller. We try not to break bones and muscles.
Thank you for everything! Without you, we probably wouldn’t have tried swimming.”
Thanks to everyone who took a step towards Anna V.!
