Required: rehabilitation course in the center “Adeli-Penza”, worth 184,100 rubles.
Diagnosis: cerebral palsy, central tetraparesis, epilepsy, developmental delay.
Ulyana is six years old. She is a very sociable and cheerful girl. She loves discovering the world and playing with kids, she dreams of going to the kindergarten. Unfortunately, it’s impossible – Ulyana has cerebral palsy. She can’t walk or stand on her own. She barely speaks.
From her mother’s letter:
“My baby was born prematurely, on the 34 week of pregnancy, after a C-section. There were over 12 hours without amniotic fluid, so the doctors diagnosed the new-born girl with intrauterine hypoxia. She started crying at once. Her Apgar scores were 7-8. At first she was transferred to the children’s ward, but then she was taken to Intensive Care Unit at the children’s hospital No.1 in Voronezh where she spent four days on a ventilator. We then spent a month in the Neonatal Pathology Unit. When we were discharged, Ulyana was diagnosed with cerebral ischemia of 3rd degree, CNS suppression syndrome and a few other secondary diagnoses.
We started treatment at once – we were admitted to hospital, took courses of massage and physical therapy. Unfortunately, with almost no result. When Ulyana was 18 months old, she learnt to sit with support. Two months earlier we applied for social benefits based on the combination of diagnoses: cerebral palsy, tetraparesis, developmental delay.
We started with a rehabilitation course in the local center “Parus Nadezhdy” (A Sail of Hope) and went on searching for centers with good results of rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy. We went to St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad and Penza. We’ve taken a few rehabilitation courses in “Adeli-Penza” medical center since 2017 and achieved great results. At first Ulyana learnt how to crawl, stand up next to support, sit down, walk around the support, stand for a few seconds and make a few steps. After each course Ulyana shows positive dynamics, her progress is recognized by all the specialists. Everyone praises her efforts as she is truly doing her best.
We are asking for your help as we can’t afford a rehabilitation course now. We have two kids and we have to pay off our mortgage. My husband is the only breadwinner since I have to attend to Ulyana. She moves around only with my help and needs support 24/7. The cost of rehabilitation is unfortunately too high for us.
Ulyana now desperately needs rehabilitation. Not long ago she started having seizures, her physical health is getting worse. We can’t lose what we’ve achieved due to everyday efforts. We have to keep on fighting for progress.
We are begging you for help although we know that we are now all living through tumultuous times. But we are asking for your help because Ulyana dreams of walking, running and jumping. And after all, children’s dreams should come true!”
The fund has decided to support Ulyana’s family and is launching a fundraising campaign to pay for her rehabilitation course!
In case the funds raised to treat a particular child exceed the required amount, the balance shall be used to cover treatment for other children and other expenses associated with the present program (Clause 1.6.3 of the “Regulations on the charity program of targeted help “Shag Navstrechu” (Take a Step).
